A 37-year-old man, Rasak Adekoya has been arrested by the Ogun State Police command for allegedly beating his son Wariz Adekoya, to death in the state.

Reports gathered that the residents alerted the security operatives at the Ago-Iwoye station  after the inhumane act meted out to the boy.

It was also gathered that the father always assaulted the boy on the allegation that he stole from him, leaving the boy with several scars and pains.

Confirming the reports to newsmen, the command�s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, (ASP) said, �Members of the community, where the suspect lived, gave the police a tip-off. The community accused the man of subjecting the boy to excessive beating.

�Preliminary investigation revealed several marks on the body of the deceased boy as a result of series of torture from the suspect. The corpse has been deposited at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital Mortuary, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu Igbo. 

He, however, stated that as soon as investigation is concluded, the suspect would be arraigned in court.
